Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. were the first of the few greek organizations to probate yesterday. There were nine girls who shared their joy of crossing over with us. Along with glowing and eager faces, blue and white balloons and bags full of gifts were everywhere in the crowd as people waited to see their friends emerge from the crowd to begin their probate. As the girls stomped against the cement and sung their hearts out, they shared with us how much they have been waiting on this day to come. Ending the celebration with a walk to their plot, they marched with pride as sweat and tears steamed down their glistening faces.

This semester is well anticipated for everyone. The greek life on GSU campus has slowly withered away these past couple of years. So many restrictions have been put on the pledging process that many greeks have either gotten in trouble or they had much work to get handled before they could properly hold a line and probate. It’s good to see GSU coming back to life.

The tape involved males and females that have yet to be confirmed as FAMU students. There has been no word yet from the PR representative of the university or the President on if the students actually attend the school or if this was just a hoax.

My friends and I saw Precious Friday night. I now understand why everyone from random bloggers to conscious hip-hop artist Common advised people to see the movie. It alluded to some of the most prevalent issues in the Black community. It forced the audience into an underworld of societal invisibility and degradation. It showed the [...]

As our wallet depth diminishes, our waistlines expand. As the recession continues, broke Americans find that fresh, organic and less health risky foods cost more than quick fix carbohydrates and sugary satiation. While occasional splurges and moderate “cheats” are to be expected, too many rely on garbage diets for sustenance. And our health declines accordingly. [...]
